1. Service Use

Fair Usage: We reserve the right to manage network traffic to ensure all customers receive reliable service.

2. Equipment

If STI provides equipment (modems, routers, etc.), it remains the property of STI. You agree to let STI enter your property to retrieve our equipment if your service is cancelled. Failure to allow retrieval or damage to the equipment may result in replacement fees.

3. Billing and Payments

Fees: You agree to pay all monthly service fees and applicable taxes on time.

Late Fees: Late payments may result in service suspension or late fees.

Cancellations: You may cancel your service at any time, subject to any specific contract terms you signed at installation.

4. Limitation of Liability

STI provides service on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. While we strive for high reliability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service and are not liable for losses resulting from service outages or data loss.

5. Security

You are responsible for securing your own local network (Wi-Fi passwords, etc.). STI is not responsible for unauthorized access to your devices.

6. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the rules for using the internet services provided by South Texas Internet ("STI"). To ensure a fast, secure, and reliable experience for all our customers, you agree to abide by the following guidelines:

1. Illegal and Harmful Activity

You may not use STI services for any purpose that violates local, state, federal, or international laws. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copyright Infringement: Hosting, sharing, or downloading copyrighted material without permission (Piracy).
  • Illegal Content: Accessing or distributing child exploitation material or other prohibited content.
  • Threats & Harassment: Sending threats of violence or harassing individuals or groups.

2. Network Security & Integrity

You are prohibited from attempting to compromise the security of STI or any other network. Prohibited actions include:

  • Hacking: Unauthorized access to accounts, servers, or private networks.
  • Malware: Distributing viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or any other destructive code.
  • Denial of Service (DoS): Engaging in activities designed to disrupt or "flood" a network or website.

3. Messaging and Spam

STI has a zero-tolerance policy for spam. You may not:

  • Send unsolicited bulk emails or commercial advertisements.
  • Forge email headers or identities to mislead recipients.
  • Maintain an "open relay" mail server that can be exploited by spammers.

4. Network Management & Fair Use

To maintain high-quality service for all users:

  • Resource Abuse: You may not use the service in a way that places an excessive burden on the STI network or interferes with other customers' ability to use the service.
  • Reselling: You may not resell STI bandwidth or provide commercial-grade hosting services to third parties without a specific commercial agreement.

5. Consequences of Misuse

STI reserves the right to investigate any violation of this policy. Failure to comply with the AUP may result in:

  • A formal warning.
  • Temporary suspension of service.
  • Permanent termination of your account without a refund.
